Telford 50 - What's Next?

This exciting event part of Telford 50 celebrations gives local junior and secondary school children the opportunity to engage with the latest digital and technological developments from well-known companies.

Discover Digital is free of charge and is set to attract around 1,000 students from the borough schools, aged between 10 – 16 years, by showcasing digital technologies, student pathways and future careers.

The event is taking place on Thursday 28 June 2018 from 10am to 4pm in Southwater Square, Telford (TF3 4JG) -  indoors (Southwater 1 building), in a marquee within the public realm area and in additional outdoor space.

Available sessions:

  • 10am to 1pm 
  • 1pm to 4pm

Please note: Participants can only book on one of these sessions.


Transport will pick students up from school to arrive at Southwater for 10am or 1pm and depart at 1pm or 4pm to return to school.

Goody bags:

Telford 50 goody bags will be handed to each of the students attending, these will include items from local companies.

A lunch voucher (valid only for the event day and that can be used at one of the Southwater restaurants) will be provided to all students attending the event.

Schools are advised to book places for their students as early as possible as places are limited.

Free transport will be provided for schools.

Should a school decide not to attend, parents are welcome to book places directly and to accompany their child to the event.

How to be a Cyber Hero, Virtual and Augmented Reality, Innovation through Technology, a Live Q&A session with an ex astronaut from NASA - are just a few of the themed master classes you could attend.

- Explore 9 interactive zones!

The highlight of the event consists of 9 Interactive zones with digital and high tech displays for students to engage with, each of the zone featuring local companies at the cutting edge of high technology.

Where possible, the students will be able to see future study routes or career paths.

There will be further updates closer to the event date as to the program and display at each of the interactive zones.
