2018 looks to be an exciting year for Telford as the borough marks its 50th birthday. On 29 November 1968 Dawley New Town was officially extended to include Wellington and Oakengates and renamed Telford. Since then the town has grown in many ways and throughout the past 50 years the community has remained an important aspect of making Telford the borough it is today - with a strong sense of community pride prevailing. As the 50th birthday approaches we would like to support communities to come together to hold their own Telford @ 50 Celebrations and have therefore established a £50,000 grant fund to support communities to do this.
