Telford 50 is Coming Soon...

50 Buildings for Telford50

As part of the Telford 50 legacy programme we want to create a lasting digital record of some of Telford’s favourite buildings.

The 50 Buildings Project will use digital scanning to create a virtual tour of 50 local buildings. As well as being a new online resource for residents, schools, visitors and community organisations, the tours will also help to promote Telford’s heritage, record the condition of buildings and support funding bids. The links below show some examples of virtual tours that have already been produced.

From 4 June to 3 July 2018, we are asking for suggestions* for buildings to include in the project. We want to find Telford’s most-loved buildings, whether they are historical, iconic or at the centre of their community.

To suggest your favourite building, please complete our online survey*.

*View the ‘Terms and conditions’ for taking part in the survey.

All suggestions will be considered in order to create final list of 50 buildings which will be published on the Telford 50 Website. For further information about the project, please contact

Virtual tours

The virtual tours work best in browsers that support ‘WebGL’, for example Google Chrome and Safari, if you’re using Internet Explorer we recommend using an alternative browser.

Data use
Each virtual tour has roughly 30 to 40 MB of core data plus an additional 1 MB for each scan position. The virtual tour loads Spaces intelligently, only the minimum is loaded for an acceptable experience. Additional background data is loaded as needed.

When viewing the tours on mobile devices we recommend that you are connected to a WiFi hotspot to save your data.

Full screen
When viewing a tour click on the 'box' (example below) in the bottom right corner to make the tour full screen.

Virtual Reality
The tours can be viewed in Virtual Reality (VR) using devices such as Google Cardboard or Samsung Gear VR and clicking on the 'goggles' icon (example below) in the bottom right corner of the tour.
